테니스 초보 일기 - (영어 번역)the diary of a tennis beginner

 오늘은 테니스 초보자, 테린이인 나의 일기로 포스팅 해본다. 최근 건강도 챙기고 뭔가를 배워보고 싶은 생각으로 테니스 레슨 등록을 했다. 2회/일주일 레슨 결제하여 어느덧 배운지 2개월이 지났지만 여전히 포핸드 연습만 주구장창 하고 있다. 처음엔 조금씩 발전해가는 모습이 있어 재미있고 기분도 좋았지만 최근 들어 발전이 멈춘 거 같은 느낌이 들어 속상하다. 기본 스윙도 제대로 안 나오고 공이 원하는 방향으로 잘 가지 않는다. 내가 몸치인 건지.. 강사님 말로는 꾸준히 하는 게 중요하다고 한다. 하루빨리 포핸드를 끝내고 백핸드로 넘어갈 수 있기를 바란다. 

 

 Today, I m posting my diary as a beginner at tennis. I registered for tennis lesson at the end of last year since I thought I should take care of my health and wanted to learn something thrilled. So I paid for a lecture which includes two lessons per week. It's been already 2 months but I m still practicing forehand all the time. At first, I was fun and excited to see my progress on playing but thesedays I feel like there's no more progress, which makes me feel discouraged. My basic swing is not working well and I couldn't hit the ball to the direction I want it to go. I wonder if it's because of my body.. My instructor says it's important to practice consistently and I would follow this advice. I hope I could finish the forehand part as soon as possible and move on to the backhand. 

 

* 오늘의 단어 및 표현

1. It's been already 2 months: '~정도의 시간이 지났다' 라는 표현으로 It has been ~ 을 사용합니다. 오랜만에 친구를 만났을 때 사용하기 좋은 표현이니 알아두면 유용할 거 같아요. ex) Hey! Good to see you again. It's been a long time!

2. I was excited: 이 문장에서 주어가 I 이므로 뒤에 excited 라는 분사형태의 형용사가 왔어요. 만약에 주어가 It이 된다면 exciting이라고 표현하는 게 맞습니다.

3. consistently: 일관되게, 지속적으로. 비슷한 말로 constantly: 끊임없이 가 있어요. consistently는 정확히 '변하지 않고 꾸준히' 라는 의미가 강합니다. ex) She consistently arrives at work on time. 반면에 constantly는 '빈번하게 지속적으로'라는 의미가 강합니다. ex) He is constantly checking his phone.
