관점과 선택의 차이가 만드는 미래 - (영어 번역)Futures the different point of view and choices will

 세상은 지극히 평범한 사람들이 대다수를 이루며 산다. 직장을 다니며 주 1~2회를 쉬고 고정적인 월급을 받지만 언제나 결핍을 느끼고 불만을 가지며 산다. 동시에 일확천금을 바라며 로또를 사는 등 현재 그들이 처한 상황에서 벗어날 무엇인가를 꿈꾸며 살아간다. 그리고 그런 삶을 지탱해 줄 '동력'을 스스로에게 선물한다. 그것은 명품, 좋은 화장품, 게임상품, 좋은 차량 등이 있다. 아이러니하게도 그들의 삶을 지탱해줄 동력을 위해 신용카드를 활용하며 빚을 만들고, 그들이 벗어나고 싶은 삶을 계속해서 유지하게끔 장려한다.
 요즘 내가 읽고 있는 책은 '부의 추월차선 완결판 언스크립티드'이다. 이 책에서는 앞서 말한 평범한 사람들이 살아가는 모습을 하나의 정형화된 시스템이라고 말한다. 그리고 그런 시스템에서 벗어나는 사람들이 부의 추월차선에 올라설 수 있고 모두가 바라는 경제적 속박에서 벗어나는 삶을 누린다고 얘기한다.
 여기서 사람들 사이에 관점과 선택의 차이가 발생한다. 누군가는 앞서 말한 명품, 좋은 차량과 같은 것들을 '삶의 동력'이라고 표현하며 자기 합리화하고 스스로를 위로한다. 하지만 이 책의 저자 엠제이 드마코는 이런 것들을 정형화된 시스템에 스스로 가둬버리고 평생 경제적 속박에서 벗어날 수 없게끔 하는 함정이라고 얘기한다. 결국 이에 대한 옳고 그름을 판단하는 건 개인의 몫이고 순간의 결정이 미래에 어떤 결과를 야기할지는 비교할 수 없다.
 나 또한 평범한 직장인이다. 나 또한 삶의 동력을 갈구하며 좋은 것들을 소비하고 세상이 만들어놓은 시스템에 갇혀 살고 있다. 이 책이 얘기하는 것들을 머리로 이해하면서 행동은 다르게 하는 지극히 보통의 사람이다. 그러나 더 나은 삶을 위해 조금씩 내 인생의 변화를 만들 것이다. 지금 블로그에 이런 글을 쓰는 것 또한 작은 변화 중 하나일 것이라 믿는다.

 This world is made up of lots of ordinary people. They rest once or twice a week from work and get a fixed salary but they always feel lack of something and keep saying complaints. At the same time, they are dreaming of something to get them out of their current lives, like buying a lottery hoping a huge fortune. And they still presents themselves with certain 'motivation' to support their lives. It includes luxury goods, good cosmetics, game products and luxury vehicles etc. Ironically, they use credit cards to purchase those motivations making debt which encourages them to continue to live their lives they want to escape.
 The book I'm reading these days is 'the millionaire fastlane final version, unscripted'. In this book, the author, MJ DeMarco, says that the way those ordinary people live is kind of standardized system. And only the people who escape from such a system can get into the millionaires fastlane and enjoy financial freedom.
 This is where different point of veiw and choices occur among people. Some people describe the aforementioned luxury goods and good vehicles as 'motivation for life' self-justifying and comforting themselves. However, MJ DeMarco says that these are traps that lock themselves in a standardized system and make them unable to escape from the economic bondage. Eventually it is up to each of us to judge whether it is right or wrong and it would be impossible to compare all those different futures each of choices we make will cause.
 I'm also one of the ordinary workers. I also chase those motivations purchasing good, luxury stuffs being trapped in a standardized system created by the world. I'm a very common person who understands what this book says but acts differently. However, I will make changes in my life little by little for a better life. I believe that writing this on my blog now would be a small step to make it real.

* 오늘의 단어 및 표현
1. fixed salary: 고정 급여. 흔히 한국인들은 고정 급여라기 보다는 월급이란 표현을 자주 쓰죠. 정확히 번역하자면 monthly-salary 가 맞지만, 본문 흐름 상 fixed salary 로 대체했습니다.
2. get A out of B: A를 B로부터 벗어나게 하다. 벗어나게 하고자 하는 대상을 A, 벗어나야 하는 상황을 B에 넣으면 다양한 표현이 가능합니다. 여기서 get은 take로 바꿔도 무방합니다. ex) She is trying to get(take) me out of this bed.
3. get into: ~에 들어가다/속하다/도착하다 등. 이 표현은 into 뒤에 나오는 목적어에 따라 다양하게 해석이 가능합니다. into라는 전치사 자체가 '~로 들어가거나 속하거나 빠져들거나' 하는 느낌을 가지고 있어요. 따라서 목적어는 구체적/추상적 대상 모두 올 수 있습니다. ex) She is getting into drugs / He is studying really hard to get into Seoul national university.
4. bondage: 구속/속박. 어떤 상태나 상황에 갇혀있어 통제 불가능한 상황을 말합니다. ex) I want to free(liberate, untie) you from this bondage.
5. stuff: 물건/어떤것/쑤셔넣다. 이 단어는 주로 명사로 쓰이며 다양한 대상에 쓰일 수 있는 만능 단어 입니다. 구체적이거나 모호한 불특정 대상의 어떤 것을 모두 일컫는 단어로 쓸 수 있죠. ex) Did you see my stuffs? / This store sells books, pens and stuffs.
